Interview with a Culture Representative

Students will interview a person who is a “native” member of a culture that is different from the Jewish/ Israeli culture. Ask the seven questions listed below and ask three additional questions that you have created in order to better understand their culture. In total, you will ask 10 questions.
Interview responses must be written and submitted to the instructor. Each of the ten questions is worth 2 points. Spelling and grammar matter. Proofread your work.
The report must not be longer than 3 pages, double-spaced, one inch margins, 12 point Times New Roman Font.
How closely do you identify with and affiliate with your culture? Please explain.
What are the gender roles in your culture?
What religious or spiritual beliefs are influential in your culture?
What is your concept of time? Is this the same as others in your culture?
What is your concept of personal space? What is appropriate for your culture?
What is considered appropriate touch between people of various relationships? (Consider how people greet each other when they are first introduced, when they greet friends, when they greet relatives)
How can you communicate effectively in your culture? Consider the meaning of tone of voice, gestures, eye-contact, overall body language, language/word choice.
